Fahd’s path to leadership began with philanthropy. Compelled by his background as the child of a low-income family that had recently immigrated to Canada, he raised over $1M for local charities, founded a camp for underprivileged children, and was awarded Canada’s Top 20 Under 20 Award for his dedication to the community.
On the pursuit of entrepreneurship, Fahd served two terms as President of Carleton University Students’ Association where he represented more than 25K students, managed a staff of 150, and oversaw the allocation of a $9M budget.
During his Presidency, Fahd launched a student entrepreneurship center that has since founded over 50 student startups and helped them raise more than $300K in seed capital. This catapulted him to develop a mobile tech startup.
Built on thirteen years of experience building successful teams, Fahd identified the tried and true ingredients that set high-performing teams apart from competitors — they had leaders who prioritized team performance over individual success. He named them Unicorn Leaders.

Through his own experiences, he saw the need for creating better startup managers. He decided to launch Unicorn Labs to bring leadership development into the startup space.
People tend to think becoming a manager means they’ve made it as a leader. But they’re wrong. Managers manage resources, recruit talent, and train employees how to do their jobs. Although they tick off the boxes in their job description, they’ve only scratched the surface of their leadership journey.
We live in an age of automation, an aging population, and technology advancing faster than we can blink. Startups who outperform the competition have a secret weapon to thrive in this age of disruption: They invest in developing their managers into Unicorn Leaders.
Unlike unicorns, Unicorn Leaders aren’t imaginary beings. They are rare individuals who have mastered how to successfully combine drive, intelligence, and humility to attract followers and to encourage them to perform to the best of their abilities.
